bird watching

It took a few weeks for the birds to find our bird feeders, but once they did it didn't take them long to eat up all the bird seed. We get gold finches and house finches and sparrows and wood peckers, chickadees, and occasionally a blue jay. It is so much fun for the kids to see who has come to visit that day.

The boys get to practice some sharing.

When he was little, Daddy wanted to be a wildlife photographer. "My parents gave me a camera when I was sixteen and a book of wildlife images. It seems like birds have been a good animal to photograph. There is so much grace and movement in their sharp and splendid bodies. "
